ProBasalt Canada is building North America's first large-scale continuous basalt fiber platform — connecting qualified basalt resources in Oman with advanced manufacturing in Canada.
ProBasalt transforms one of nature's most durable materials into an industrial platform for the technologies of the twenty-first century — built in Canada, supplied by Oman and designed for global markets.
Long-term access to carefully evaluated basalt resources and a planned Oman-to-Canada supply corridor.
Specialized knowledge linking geology, melting behaviour, fiber formation, quality control and downstream products.
Canadian production positioned near sophisticated North American customers, research partners and industrial supply chains.
From raw volcanic stone to continuous engineered fiber — the transformation at the core of everything ProBasalt builds.
Basalt → Molten → Fiber
Basalt is not synthetic. It is volcanic stone, melted and drawn into continuous fiber — a naturally formed mineral material, structurally similar to glass fiber, but with meaningfully better strength characteristics.
"We do not present basalt fiber as a universal replacement for steel, glass fiber or carbon fiber. Its strength is that it can offer a better answer where the existing answer is no longer sufficient."
Every major industrial transformation has been enabled by a change in materials. Metals created machines and modern cities. Polymers enabled mass production and new forms of design. Semiconductors transformed information into the foundation of the global economy. The next industrial transformation will require materials that deliver more performance with fewer resources across a longer operating life.
The project's ambition extends beyond primary fiber production: ProBasalt is designed to convert geological potential into engineered products, application knowledge and long-term industrial value.
